WMI error when running dfsrdiag backlog command.

recently set 2 windows 2008 r2 enterprise file servers domain dfs namespace.  on same network when set up.  data replicated between 2 no problem.  able use dfsrdiag backlog command no issue in scenario.  have moved 1 of file servers site , can no longer use dfsrdiag backlog command.  returns following error:

[error] failed connect wmi services on computer: <server fqdn>

operation failed

dfs replication appears work fine, can't see backlog.  made sure i'm running command prompt administrator, , disabled uac filtering hklm\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\system\localaccounttokenfilterpolicy dword (set 1).  i'm starting wonder if there permission issues, can't imagine how have changed.  advice appreciated.

i thought update since did issue resolved.  after , forth conversation networking team, turned out firewall/vpn configuration problems.  wmi traffic being blocked.  unblocking fixed issue.  scorpio replying.  appreciate help, though turned out not problem windows.
