Windows Deployment Services - why is "Do not authorize...in DHCP" checked by default - is "Authorize" mandatory?

okay, i'm skittish doing "authorize windows deployment services server in dhcp"

i looked through docs , don't see clear direction on this????

please help!

my wds not dhcp server; but dhcp server in same subnet.

by default, wds "advanced" panel has checked "do not authorize wds server in dhcp."

i'm guessing must 'authorized,' sort of 'glosses on that,' no clear idea if when dhcp on same server; or 'manadatory' thing, when dhcp on different server in same subnet?

thanks in advance!

hi.

there earlier thread configuring wds , dhcp on different servers here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/en-us/winserversetup/thread/e84c8a4c-a6da-4c4a-8ca6-2a1007b205ae/

in short, since can send required information directly dhcp server dont have authorize server in ad. set of radio buttons same thing authorize server in dhcp management.
