Strange Upload Problem on Hyper-V

hi, 1 driving me totally nuts.

i have being trying upload file www.virustotal.com (its harmless exe have since found out - diskwipe.exe diskwipe.org). using ie8.

from win 7 and win 2008 r2 datacenter (which i select to boot vhd's) onto main machine hardware, , on another win 7 pc elsewhere on network, when upload file virustotal.com works perfectly. so, using native nic's fine. using machine perfect. right.

ok, boot menu default main development machine - 1 i'm typing on now. runs on metal , has hyper-v role , have guests. guests not running.

amazingly, from my console (root partition exact) or _any_ guest os 2003 /xp / 2008 r2 etc. upload virustotal.com slows @ 32% hangs @ 38.something% & never finishes!!

here kicker. have another box (my main server) running hyper-v on metal  and 3 live guests. identical h/w main dev machine in room. (except os datacenter - mine enterprise).   if try , upload bare metal console or guest file virustotal.com using ie8 stops exactly in same place!!

as "steps have tried etc." kind-of blown out of water server box doing precise same thing machine in room here.

ok, comonalities: mobo: gigabyte ga-x58-ud5, 12gb kingston ram, corei7 920 4 cores hyperthreading = 8 & realtek rtl8168d/8111d family pci-e gigabit ethernet nic's.

all 3 machines have same motherboard - revision f11 bios, have 12gb ram, have realtek nic's. x64 way mentioned before have win 7 box ud5 m/board, 12 gb ram - bit of overkill. :-)

all these machines when not running hyper-v can upload file. perhaps may try on hyepr-v (2008 r2) yourselves ie8 , desktop experience on. see if works or fails you. root os or guest.

so, looking nic + hyper-v = cannot upload file (any file must add.) realtek nic ver 7.002.1125.2008. using ie8

i see in nic settings there usual parameters jumbo frames / checksum offloading etc. several others. should fiddle these?

i ran netmon 3.3 in guest , tcp session halted upload failed. suppose study further. dont have netmon on root partition machine (yet)!

all os's patched - including todays defender files. box running office 2007 - identical server in room not.

also, if fire vpn distant client , upload works! of course different network path.

suggestions welcome please. if left out important - please yell @ me.

ok, unrelated issue (but seems cause)!!!!!   i messing around daydreaming wonder how netgear fvs318 nat overhead slowing broadband cable.

did tests , cut long story short. nat on netgear wired firewall not fast. download speed more doubled when connected cable modem direct server-to-wan.

ok, ordered new fvs318g claiming 25 mbps lan wan. modem 2009 designed small business router/spi firewall. used usual netgear web page in shock. improved , has excellent config. + more features.

installed today , _very_ happy results. wan lan downloads have more doubled. 3 times faster (almost).

a few mins ago thought "i wonder"..... so tried upload diskwipe.exe virustotal.com. worked perfectly!!!

so, don't want put old fvs318 clunker in - test.

i happy forget strange nat + hyper-v + virustotal - whatever timing issue. (or maybe virustotal.com tweaked upload routine yesterday).

amazing.

i predict people (average mom/dad/kids family), as faster , faster broadband may, never see importance of high speed nat devices. sure, wireless "n" faster speeding bullet.    loosing with slow nat processing. wonder.????

Group policy default policy cannot be edited because network name not found

hey everyone, i have been having issues on , off domain. pdc crashed (the domain controller). started old server , made domain controller , forced roles over. repaired pdc , elevated back. although appeared work found cannot rid of other dc because pdc can no longer contact domain things group policy or else. start secondary , domain magically reachable. although while secondary down can ping domain , replies ip of pdc appears pdc has no control on anything. questions following. 1. gpos created before crash no longer work. rebuilt sysvol , default problem can't edit default domain policy. don't believe having replication problems new repairing domains setting them , maintaining them of education came from.  2. if pdc gpo management console can't access gpos can secondary not have installed? 3. why domain unreachable if no dcs online when shutdown secondary. thanks in advance , try edit dc diag log right there on fails want narrow of out guys concentrate on...

Problem when changing update source

hi all, we use win server 2008 r2 enterprise , wsus 3.2. until last friday, downoloading updates microsoft's website. had change the source wsus server in our headquarters (not being replica server). started problem: our product , classification changed, downloading lot of updates hadn't ever downloaded. now, when try modify update soure (to microsoft's web site again) set option console falls down - database error - , copying error clipboard, have message bellow: the wsus administration console unable connect wsus server database.     verify sql server running on wsus server. if problem persists, try restarting sql.     system.data.sqlclient.sqlexception -- maximum stored procedure, function, trigger, or view nesting level exceeded (limit 32). info:spsetconfiguration - synctomu or upstreamservername config value changed - no reset source .net sqlclient data provider stack trace:    @ microsoft.updateservices.ui.admi...
