I can't clean up WSUS files.

the error is

the wsus administration console unable connect wsus server database.

verify sql server running on wsus server. if problem persists, try restarting sql.

system.data.sqlclient.sqlexception -- transaction log database 'susdb' full. find out why space in log cannot reused, see log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases

remember, original problem (ostensibly -- we're still lacking diagnostic data on configuration authority), database transaction log ran out of space trying delete updates database. now, frankly, volume of updates eligible deletion @ given time not large, on poorly maintained wsus server, i'm still skeptical issue simple deleting files , rebooting.

but think can reinstall, need reinstall couple of mbs
free of space.

reinstalling, while produce working wsus server -- short term -- end right @ same place unless administrative deficiencies led problem in first place identiifed , remediated.

a server 70gb of free space on sysvol, , no other free space available, marginally appropriate use wsus server, , doing require continuous maintenance involvement ensure machine not, again, fill sysvol approved update downloads.

knowing why there 70gb of content on server critical component in determining whether server can recovered and/or should reinstalled - or whether machine should abandoned being inadequate task. if server multi-language, or needs eif enabled (rare, still valuable in circumstances), 70gb free space not sufficient @ all. if server single-language, should more sufficient, provided appropriate resources available manage server every month , perform required maintenance.
