Server 2003: ntbackup "skips" D:\

hello all.  i'm seeing 2003 server standard (non-domain) dat72 tape drive skipping d:| during selective backup.  i'ts happenign every day, whether or not users connected , after server reboot.  system has c: (system) , d: (data) partition, using ntbackup, , user manually selecting c: , d: drives system state.

here's printout of backup log on given day.  part skipping d:| beacuse can't find file specified losing me, since in other respects d: drive accessible.  ntfs permissions allow system , administrators full control.  any thoughts?  thank you!  the rest of post printout:

hi,

first, mean (it should not permission issue) if is, error should access denied or similar. sorry confuse.

test following suggestions:

1. check whether shadow copy enabled on drive d. if available, set size smaller or clear old snapshots , test backup again.

2. have try on steps provided in artcile:

windows server 2003 cannot perform backup jobs tape devices on storage area network

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;842411

3。also try hotfix:

new volume shadow copy service update available fixes various volume shadow copy service problems in windows server 2003

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913648/en-us

4. let know whether backup onto hard disk successful.
