change the primary server

hi

i have server installed windows 2008 server on , provide ad service , dns service too.

i have additional server ad additional , secondry dns of primary.

now want change os of primary windows 2008 r2 without changing plat form of network , don't join again stations.

please how must it?

hello,

first of there no primary/secondary dc. dcs rw except rodcs.

if 2008 servver 32 bit? if yes, have to:

• transfer fsmo roles other dc
• demote dc using dcpromo
• perform clean install of 2008 r2 os
• promote again dc using dcpromo

before proceeding, make sure other dc gc.

if 2008 server 64 bit, try perform inplace upgrade;
