Email connectivity

i try send email outlook express , following error message:

the connection server has failed.  account: 'mail.bellsouth.net', server: 'mail.bellsouth.net, protocol: smtp, port: 25, secure(ssl): no, socket error: 10060, error number: 0x800ccc0e

it's been quite while.  hotmail works fine.  how fix this??

Invalid pointer on gpresult /h gpreport.html
