FSRM: question about hard limit disk quotas - how it computes parent folder vs. sub folders

hi all, i've got hope simple question.

i've got w2012r2 server using fsrm.  have following disk quotas prevent out disks filling up:

e:/mydept/* disk quota of 500gb

e:/mydept/appa disk quota of 100gb

my question:

(1) know e:/mydept/appa has hard limit quota of 100gb (cannot go beyond 100gb), count against 500gb disk quota e:/mydept/*?  example, i'm using total of 600gb of disk space combination of e:/mydept/* , e:/mydept/appa (e:/mydept/appa using 100gb; e:/mydept/* [excluding ../appa/] using 500gb = 600gb].  possible? [i'm assuming no]

thanks in advance.

hi clay28,

based on understanding, happens root folder has 500 gb quota, , subfolder has 100 gb quota. can't have 600 gb file in root folder. have 100gb files on subfolder. in fsrm, may appear root has 500 gb total quota shared between subfolders

, since subfolder has explicit quota defined, files within subfolder count quota of subfolder, , not parent folder.

root "quota" indeed cumulative total of subfolders.

best regards,

mary
