Internally file space utilization is different but from host OS the VHD size looke the same.

there 2 identical vms, 1 has 1gb ram & other running 2gb.

when looking through explorer c:\ contains page file, vm1 1 gb & on vm2 2 gb on host os vhd size same !!

how possible?

is unless page file utilized internally vhd won't expand & show space ?

yup

and again answer 'yes' question.  until content written dynamically expanding disk, storage not allocated.  well, sort of.  efficient, hyper-v allocate incremental storage in blocks not have allocate every time new write done.  if memory of virtual machines sized, need write page file minimized.  until writes, there nothing in page file.
