hi all, both forest (a.local) and forest b (b.local1) has windows 2003 functional level. forest has windows 2008 r2 domain controllers; forest b has windows 2003 & 2008 r2 domain controllers.  added forwarders on both forests. in forest b, can build forest trust forest a. but, in forest a, can not build forest trust b.local1 does not exist , can not ping b.local either. sometimes, went out external ip when ping b.local1. what missing? thank you. >if private ip shouldn't resolve public ip until static records created in forest b's dns server i gave using conditional  forwarder , use seconday zone , able build forest trust. we not have public ip these dcs , have 1 single nic has private ip. sorry haven't sent info due urgency build forest trust request. so, question: i use seconday zone forest b in forest a, able build forest trust.  why? but not conditional forwarders. thank you. ...

we installed couple new 2012 r2 servers , migrated sbs 2008 2012 r2 file server , 2012 r2 exchange 2013 server. running standard versions. everything working fine except server essentials experience role on fileserver. installs fine without issues, users showed in essentials desktop , recreated groups. went through set anywhere access , shows green check mark. know router has port 443 open. problem cannot access web interface of role in way inside or outside network. not connect function. neither http://fileserver/connect nor http://fileserver work (both errors below). roles , functions installed on server ad domain controller, file server , remote anywhere access. updated , working fine. the /connect yields following error.   server error in '/connect' application. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- compilation error  description: error occurred during compilation of resource required service request. please review...

on win2003 sp2 server have mbsa v2.2 - tool should check other machines in private workgroup (all without internet access). works fine on other 32 bit machines - 2 64 bit machines have troubles. i have windows xp sp2 64 , windows 2003 r2 sp2 64bit. available security hotfixes succesfully installed using little batch script. no errors reported during installation. variable errorlevel reports "0" or "3010" - means reboot required. after reboot can find entries in "add/remove programs" , see blue colored folder "kbxxxxx" in c:\windows. these both machines should patched fine. but mbsa reports 35 missing hotfixes - dont know why! wua @ 2 machines new installed (7.0.6000.381). ***************         security updates                                | ms08-037 | missing | security update wind...
