i have folder have several groups , few individual accounts set rwxd permissions , apply folders, subfolders, , files.  when new file put directory in question, not permissions folder applied it.  must manually push permissions down files form folder it's in.  isn't making since me why happening.  in advance. it appears (or users) moving file other folder within single partition. to avoid issue, 1 of following: 1. not move files. copy them destination folder and delete from source. 2. configure hklm\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer key, add value dword movesecurityattributes = 0x00000000. however, requires users have changepermissions right destination folder. usually, never give them more modify.   mcitp: enterprise administrator; mct; microsoft security trusted advisor; ccna Windows Server  ...
